About
Kollage has been in the making for several years. The idea of Kollage is to assemble a collective of talented musicians, artists and other individuals with various hip hop related attributes to express and expose it for the listeners and viewers. The idea was never on our agenda initially, although, years of being immersed in this lifestyle with friends and others, it just all came together and this is what it has evolved into.
We all found our passions many years ago. Some of us have developed and refined our skills in certain areas of music and art throughout that time. We all knew we wanted to create and let our skills flourish, but it wasn't until recently, that we put all of this together into the Kollage you see today.

MATERIAL- (Matthew Reeves)
aka: märz, fellow, pmc03
- Producer
- MC
Self taught musician, MC, and producer, Material has experimented with production since 2001, although his love for hip hop dates way back to the original days of pioneers like Grandmaster Flash, Sugar Hill, RUN DMC and NWA. His work features unique drums sequences, smooth cuts, crafted samples, original melodies, and always seeking new beat forms to create one-of-a-kind tracks. His progression with production over the years has helped him push the limits of his equipment and traditional hip hop conventions with production. He's got the ear and the knowledge to throw together masterpieces in minimal time to make him one of the most prolific producers in Kollage and locally. If he's not in the studio behind the digital arsenal of computers and instruments, then he's handwriting his masterful wordplay of lyrics in one of his multiple notebooks full of rhythmic poetry. He portrays his experiences of life which seems to mirror a lot of our listeners' stories who can relate closely to what he has to say. He can mix up emotions, creativity, and playful melodic patterns within his rhymes that set him aside as one of the best MC's in Denver, and nationally. It is unfortunate that a lot of his work will never make it public due to time and perfectionism, but what you will hear will impress. He's got a lot more than what you see and hear on stage

Reaching between Hip Hop and spoken word styles, he crafts his words to entertain and make you think twice A cunning story teller who can bring listeners into his/her realm, always makes a great lyricist. Listening closely to his writing skills will allow you to go inside his creative head and acknowledge the talent and intelligence Noetic holds and is willing to express. No matter if he throws down on tight-ass beats or straight simple apace, your mind and ears will be pleased. Just when you hear something extraordinary, his next verse is right there to back it up and make you crave more. He doesn't settle for mediocre rhymes in any case, so his whole compositions come off strong and powerful with amazing lyrics and flow.

artistIQ - (Patrick Hansen)
aka: DJ Tanner, π
- DJ
- Producer
- MC
- Guitarsts/Bassist
- Designer/Artist/Geek
ArtisitIQ has been a long time friend of Material. Both grew up together since the Jr. High days. He began his musical lifestyle with a six string back in 1990. Although hip hop still played a vital role in his musical playlists, he also wanted to experiment with a variety of other musical styles. With guitar and musical training in rock, blues/jazz, and classical, he wanted to bring these elements to his hop hop production for a more unique blend. He also started production circa 2001, artistIQ utilizes a variety of styles and techniques to produce organic, blues/jazz and rock influenced hip hop melodies. Strongly into poetry and creative writing, he applies this to his rhymes to create enticing and unusual verses. He composes with a witty vocabulary and intends to provide more than just the literal meanings, or simple metaphors behind his messages, so take another listen. He is always wanting to take lyrical word play to other levels and see how much he can make a listener think while still retaining audible entertainment. Stepping up to the turn tables, artistIQ is acquiring skills in that element as well, providing the backbone of mixes and cuts for the crew. He is also responsible for various other aspects of Kollage, such as art and design, and the tech facets. Heavily into art and the many forms of it, it is no reason why they call him artistIQ.
